I worked as a Co-op with F1 Visa from January 2009 to August 2009 in a company at North Carolina.
The HR gave me paychecks without any tax withholding. My total income was a little more than 20,000$ and I am a F1 from China over 25 old. Could anyone give me idea on which forms I need to file and how could I send a check for my tax to IRS ? Thanks in advance |

If you got Form W-2 from the company to report the 2009 income, you will file Forms 1040NR-EZ and 8843 plus the applicable state tax return.
If you got Form 1099 from the company to report the 2009 income, you will file Forms 1040NR and 8843 plus Schedule C plus the applicable state tax return. The amount of tax you pay will be the same in either case. If you need help filing, email me at taxexpert@visataxes.com for a fee quote.
